Pitch Meetings

Each month, the News Team hosts two different meetings designed to coordinate our story pitches to the media:

  1. A face-to-face meeting at the beginning of the month.
  2. A conference call in the middle of the month.

What is a ‘pitch meeting’ anyway?

If you've heard about these meetings but are confused about their purpose, fret no more! The answer is simple: In these pitch meetings, we talk about stories that will be pitched to external media so that we all know what each other is working on.

Institute Communications has the responsibility of cultivating relationships with national media. We want you to know what we’re pitching, and we want hear what you are working on that might be pitch-worthy.

How do I get invited to the meeting?

  • Lance Wallace sends out an invitation on a monthly basis.
  • If you haven't received these invitations but would like to be added to the list, email Lance Wallace.

What if I don’t pitch?

Then you don’t need to add this meeting to your calendar. You are always welcome, but we wanted to demystify the media pitching strategy for those who work more closely with external media.

Glad we could clear that up. Have more questions? Feel free to email Lance Wallace.
